Remove / Strip
STRIPACAST is a non-hazardous spray applied liquid stripper designed to help remove and strip old worn out film forming sealers. Apply STRIPACAST to concrete surfaces such as concrete pavers, tiles and cementitious surfaces prior to use of our SILACASTBES, DECO 20 CLEAR FINISH or TRAVACAST materials.
WHY SHOULD I STRIP AN OLD JOB
When applying a new sealer to any surfaces it is always recommended to remove the old sealer to ensure the best possible results. Old sealers can prevent the new sealer from penetrating which will restrict their effectiveness on the job. Old sealers can also continue to deteriorate underneath the new sealer making the job look not as good as it should.
HOW CAN ITELLIF MY PAVERS HAVE ALREADY BEEN SEALED?
You can easily test an area if it had previously been sealed by soaking an area with a hose. If the water sits on top for any amount of time before soaking in it has been sealed before. If the water immediately soaks in the pavers it more than likely was not previously sealed.
Apply STRIPACAST with a garden sprayer, pneumatic canister or spot sprayer to surface to be stripped until completely saturated. Once the STRIPACAST begins to turn a hazy white it has been activated and is ready to be removed with an industrial pressure washer and a turbo tip. Typical wait time is between 30 and 40 minutes depending on temperatures. Because STRIPACAST is non-hazardous catch and release is not necessary but always check with local laws on specific rules and regulations. A second application is sometimes necessary.
